ABOUT THE PROMOTION

Indulge in your passion of food and art at the InterContinental London Park Lane hotel in a unique promotion which fuses the best of Italian cooking with creative design and photography.

Celebrated chef Theo Randall and I have joined forces to launch a World-first initiative called 'EAT THE ART' where restaurant diners can simultaneously enjoy both an exclusive menu (cooked by Theo) and artwork (designed by me) using the very same ingredients - a novel synthesis of our different creative talents!

THE CONCEPT

Screen Shot 2018-09-24 at 03.37.54.png

The initiative brings together our mutual passion for beautiful fruit and vegetables with Theo using the ingredients to

create a delicious 5 course restaurant menu and myself using the same varieties to compose one of my signature-style hand-placed designs. The design I created was photographed at high resolution and then printed and framed as an ultra high-definition acrylic artwork which is now on display in the restaurant.

Copies of the artwork can be purchased on my website below or diners at the restaurant can buy prints to take home with them. The art is offered in two different formats; as a limited edition, fine art photographic print

(unframed) or as an exclusive ultra high-definition framed acrylic print which is  limited to 5 pieces only.

Both artworks are numbered and signed by Theo and myself.

The 'EAT THE ART' promotion runs from the end of September 2018 at the Theo Randall restaurant at the InterContinental London Park Lane, W1J 7QY. To learn more about Theo and his cooking please visit:

AMBER'S DESIGN

My design endeavoured to mirror the abundance of fruit and vegetables used by Theo in his cooking and to also pay tribute to the vibrant fresh flavours in his special menu.

I wanted the bright colours and interesting textures of the different ingredients to really stand out and I aimed to present them in a visually compelling way. Ingredients I used included: Italian Amalfi lemons, yellow and candy beetroot, artichokes, courgettes, turnips, carrots, leeks, fennel, olives, capers, red chilli,  asparagus, peas and basil.

These images and video clips show me

creating the design.

THEO'S MENU

Theo's menu highlights his quintessential Italianate style of cooking, showing the lightest of touch and respect he has for beautiful,

flavoursome ingredients. Menu dishes include:

Anti pasti - smoked eel with red golden and stripy beetroots with mixed Italian spring leaves and fresh horseradish

Primi - Tagliarini with fresh peas proscuitto and butter

Secondi - Sea bream with roseval potatoes fennel taggiasche olives capers parsley

Carne - Somerset Lamb rack with roasted artichokes turnips salsify leeks zucchini carrots and asparagus with salsa d’erbe

Dolci - Amalfi lemon tart

MAKING THE VIDEO

Theo and I filmed a promotional video in his kitchen and restaurant at the Intercontinental Hotel in London and we also filmed footage of me creating the design at my studio in Derbyshire.
